Venezuelan Analyst: Over 3,000 political arrests in Venezuela, as violence in the country deepens
A young man with Asperger’s Syndrome was detained at a protest on April 30 and severely mistreated at the hands of police.
The Venezuelan regime has now arrested over 3,000 political detainees since protests began in February.Last Thursday, a total of 700 National Guard troops and 200 National Police were deployed to launch an offensive against a peaceful student demonstration. The nation’s security forces stampeded student protest camps arresting 243 students in a matter of hours.
Aggressions against those imprisoned remain a concern as human rights violations continue to stack up. Even the nation’s children are not safe to express their desires for the future of their country, and 7 of those detained on Monday, May 12 were minors, young girls and boys between 15 and 17 years of age.
